The tiniest bubble in a really big pool of soft drink brands, Cheerwine has been quietly stocking the Carolinas (and a
few other Southern states) with its semi-cherry, sorta-cola soft drink for nearly one-hundred years. This has been done
to the delight of their hardcore followers.
In an effort to get more hardcore followers, specifically those in the 18-24 year old range, we put our celebration of
the laid back lifestyle on the Internet. itsasoftdrink.com is a Flash-based website, built as an immersive, click-and-discover
environment, featuring sound mixing games, animated games, and interactive characters. With a lavish video player, our
animated broadcast spots and viral videos look stunning on the website.
I coordinated the production of the whole enchilada: Website development, Flash banners announcing the site, animation
for the broadcast. In addition I directed the casting, shooting and post production of 5 short films that not only appeared
on itsasoftdrink.com, but were also sent virally around the web.
Needless to say, I spiked a Cheerwine or two during the process.
